This is an old revision of the document!

This is a spin-off of Colin-Deleger, where Michel Colin divided most of his vineyard holdings between his two sons, Bruno and Philippe.

  • In vintage 2004: Bruno states that he follows most of his father's techniques except that “he may stir the the lees a bit longer in the spring.” [Ed Note by Don Cornwell–Colin-Deleger was already one of the estates with major problems in terms of premature oxidation and anecdotally was a relatively low S02 user as well as one of the longest lees stirrers in vintage 2000. So this statement is anything but a good sign in my view.]
  • In vintage 2005: M/L's completed in January-February, but stirred the lees until early May; free SO2 level increased to 40 ppm beginning this vintage
  • In vintage 2010: Currently bottling at 35 pmm free SO2.

  • Chassagne-Montrachet la Maltroie (November 2013) - Had this from magnum at a friends. Very nice wine. Not at all oxidized. Fairly young color for a 2004 (Howard Cooper)

  • Puligny-Montrachet La Truffieres (1st bottle 12/2009, 2nd bottle 01/2011): Purchased from reputable retailer in Vancouver. Both oxidised, 2nd undrinkable. [Peter Skarsgard]
  • Chassagne-Montrachet Les chaumèes (February 2011). Not oxidised. Very much in its juvenile phase. [Jorfra]
  • Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Morgeot (December 31, 2014). Purchased from reputable retailer and stored in wine fridge. Oxidized and undrinkable. [Jbeeby]
  • Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru En Remilly (May 12, 2020). Oxidized, tasted 10 years older than it should. [Jammy Wine]
  • Chassagne-Montrachet En Remilly (June 2012): advanced but not fully oxidized [droch]
  • Puligny–Montrachet “La Truffière” (Jun. – Aug. 2019): 1 btl not oxidized + 1 btl oxidized. 14% ABV (!). The good bottle was yellow gold in color. Very lovely, but richer & fatter than in other vintages. A firm mineral backbone, however, keeps the richness in check on the palate. In this vintage, the style of this wine reminds me of his father Michel's PM “Les Demoiselles”. From a lot of 2 purchased in Jan. 2018 from the auction platform of a reputable West Coast retailer. [Rayner Cheung]
  • Puligny–Montrachet “La Truffière” (2013 – 2015): 6 btls not oxidized. A magnificent 21st century white Burgundy with old–school aromatics & flavors. From a half–case purchased in 2011 from the domaine's West Coast importer Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant. [Rayner Cheung]
  • Chassange-Montrachet Les Vergers (April 2015): Case from reputable retailer and stored in walk-in cellar at 55-57o since purchased. First bottle was fully oxidized and undrinkable. Second bottle shows advanced oxidation but still drinkable.

  • Chassagne–Montrachet “Les Vergers” (Sep. 2017 – Nov. 2019): 12 btls not oxidized. Lovely nose of delicate orchard fruits complicated by earthy minerality. Comparatively sweet & fat on the palate by 21st century white Burgundy standards. Decanting optional. From a case purchased in 2011 from the domaine's West Coast importer Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant. [Rayner Cheung]
  • Chassagne–Montrachet “Blanchot Dessus” (Nov. 2017 – Jul. 2020): 6 btls not oxidized. Delicate perfume of white flowers. Leaner & less developed on the palate than the Les Vergers. No rush to drink. Best served decanted. From a half–case purchased in 2011 from the domaine's West Coast importer Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant. [Rayner Cheung]
  • Puligny–Montrachet “La Truffière” (Apr. 2018 – Jul. 2020): 6 btls not oxidized. Orange flower & a touch of flint in the nose. Youthful on the palate like the Blanchot Dessus, but richer & more complex. No rush to drink. Best served decanted. From a half–case purchased in 2011 from the domaine's West Coast importer Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant. [Rayner Cheung]

  • Chassagne-Montrachet Blanchot Dessus (December 2016): Not oxized [C. Jang]
  • Chassagne–Montrachet “Les Vergers” (Jul. 2020 – ): 2 btls not oxidized. Youthful color of pale gold. Ripe orchard fruits & citrus blossom in the nose. Richly textured & delicious. Quite a bit more exotic & less obviously mineral than usual. Decanting recommended. From a half case purchased in 2012 from the domaine's West Coast importer Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant. [Rayner Cheung]
  • Puligny-Montrachet La Truffieres (November 2015): young to mature; not oxidized [Howard Cooper]
  • Puligny–Montrachet “La Truffière” (Oct. 2010 – ): 1 btl not oxidized. Youthful color of pale yellow. Needs decanting. Faint notes of citrus blossom emerge after some coaxing. Takes 10 mins to open up in the glass, then youthful flavors of green fruits laced with mineralité. From a half case purchased in 2012 from the domaine's West Coast importer Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant. [Rayner Cheung]
  • Chassagne-Montrachet Boudriotte (Feb 2017, June 2018): fine [Adrian Latimer]
