Background information

  • General: No batonnage performed here.
  • In vintage 2007: (per Burghound): targeting a free SO2 level of 35 to 40 ppm along with completely untreated corks and wax capsules. (NB. Its not clear precisely when this started)
  • In vintage 2010: (per Burghound): has switched diameter on corks from 24mm to 25mm; continues to bottle at 35 to 40 ppm of free SO2
  • In vintage 2015: (per Wiliam Kelley of Wine Advocate): now bottling with target free SO2 level of 55 ppm
  • Puligny Champ Gain (Nov 2012): not oxidized, excellent wine [MLT]
  • Puligny Champ Gain (Jan 2013): not oxidized, not as good as Nov 2012 bottle but still very good, got better with air [MLT]
  • Puligny Champ Gain (Apr 2013): not oxidized but a bit more advanced than the previous two bottles and not quite as good [MLT]


  • Chassagne Morgeot (November/Desember 2015): 6 bottles NOT oxidized, Impressive! (TA)


  • Corton Charlemagne (May 2010): not oxidized [MLT]
  • Corton Charlemagne (Dec 2010): not oxidized [MLT]
  • Meursault Genevrieres (May 2011): not oxidized, needed lots of air [MLT]
  • Meursault Genevrieres (Jul 2012): not oxidized, drinking well, could use a bit more acid but surprisingly good for an 03 [MLT]
  • Meursault Perrieres (Jul 2011): not oxidized [MLT]
  • Meursault Perrieres (Dec 2012): not oxidized [MLT]
  • Batard Montrachet (April 2013) not oxidized - very impressive (R DeAngelo)
  • Chevalier Montrachet ( 29 August 2012): not oxidized, still an infant (Gilles Huygen)
  • Chevalier Montrachet (April 2013) not oxidized - painfully young (R DeAngelo)
  • Chevalier Montrachet (Oct 2014) not oxidized - still showing young but is carrying quite a bit of wood (R DeAngelo)
  • Chevalier Montrachet (June 2015) not oxidized - still young! (R DeAngelo)
  • Corton Charlemagne (20 May 2012): not oxidized, young but already showing well (Gilles Huygen)
  • Meursault Charmes (18 May 2010): not oxidised, excellent wine. Interestingly, while the bottle was on its side I noticed that the ullage surface area was smaller than an American dime. My five remaining bottles also have about the same ullage level. [Mlav]
  • Meursault Genevrieres (Jan 2012): Not oxidized. Fine. Still young (Gilles Huygen)
  • Meursault Perrières (Jan 2011): Not oxidized, oaky, slightly sweet [Frank Drew]
  • Meursault Perrières (Jul 2013): Not oxidized, young [R Younger]
  • Montrachet (April 2012): Not oxidised, Typical Montrachet nose, slightly narrow flavour spread. [Don Osborne]
  • Montrachet (Oct 2013): Not oxidized, excellent [MLT]
  • Puligny Folatieres (Sept 2012) Not oxidized - from magnum. Very oaky though - way too much coconut. His style today is the polar opposite from this bottle (R DeAngelo)

  • Bienvenues-Batard Montrachet (March 14, 2019 at the 2011 Vintage Assessment Dinner): Not oxidized and excellent, slightly preferred to the Criots in the same flight. [Don Cornwell]
  • Chevalier Montrachet (March 14, 2019 at the 2011 Vintage Assessment Dinner): Not oxidized and extraordinary bottle. My number 1 wine on night two of the dinners. The best Chevalier at this age I have had from PYCM to date. [Don Cornwell]
