| + | * **Meursault–Rougeots** (Aug. 2023 & Apr. 2025): 2 btls not oxidized. Both btls in superb condition. Light/medium gold. 1st btl: Classic & intense Coche–Dury nose of popcorn & lightly–grilled nuts on top of multiple layers of orchard fruit, complicated by a herbal/grassy element. Delicious, with outstanding vinosity, but only 12.5% ABV. Superb balance bet. the fruit & the acidity here, with no need for decanting. 2nd btl: Seems to have gone to sleep. A hint of struck match in the nose adding a little excitement to the unripe green fruits. Lemony & unyielding on the palate, as if it were a 2 year old wine. Should have decanted. From 2 btls purchased from the domaine's West Coast importer Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant in Oct. 2013. [Rayner Cheung] | ||
